So the cat is out of the bag! It has been awful keeping a secret this big for what seemed like an eterninty. I am so happy to be able to shout from the roof top that we are pregnant!!
We have already been for our first ultrasound. It was incredible... like nothing I ever imagined. I was quite nervous going into it. I think quite normal for the first pregnancy - nothing specific, just worried. I don't feel pregnant, maybe all the tests were wrong. I have gotten through the whole first trimester with very little morning sickness. James on the other hand was quite excited and as usual told me I worry too much.
Our Tech was fantastic. Her first comment was 'WOW your bladder is full'. Those who know me well know I drink a lot of water. I polished off nearly 2 liters of water before heading off to the ultrasound. I wanted to make sure there was no chance of having to reschedule. She turned the screen towards me so I could see where my bladder was and then she says 'there is your little munchkin!'. I will remember those words for a very long time. She went on to do her measurements and firm up a due date of July 2, 2008. She brought James in the room at this point and she moved the thingy around so we could see the baby from different angles. We could see Baby's head, arms, and legs. The ultrasound was in real time so we could see the little critter moving around and swimming about. It was such a surreal experience to know that little person with a heartbeat is living in side you. It really helps to make this process feel real.
Can't wait until we get to see our litte critter again!
