We have a fun filled weekend of Halloween fun ahead!
We had music class this morning where I got to wear my costume.
We are going trick or treating at Nana's and Uncle Dave and Auntie Bo's.
We have a Halloween party with my friend Nicholas tomorrow....
Why can't it be Halloween every day??? Except for this hat. I hate this hat! Notice how I am trying to remove it in all but one of the pictures. Mom and Dad just dont' get that I do not want to wear it! I humored them for this last one but refused to look up for the picture. Take that Mom and Dad!!

1 More Sleep!
One more sleep until CANDY!
Look at all this candy... and you are going to give it away???
Is this a hat?
I can't wait for Halloween!

Brushing Teeth
So here we are a few days into our new bedtime routine and things are going well. Since Friday when we started this whole change we have not had to get up in the night with him. That is not to say that he hasn't fussed some of the nights because he has, but not enough to warrant either of us going to get him. That is good. Really good, in fact.
Here is how the brusing teeth portion of the new routine is going. See the toothbrush in Grady's right hand?
'Dad I can do it myself!'
'I don't need your help Dad!'
'I'm outta here!'

No More Bottles!!!
'My name is Grady and I am a bottle-aholic'
If Grady could talk and there was such a word as bottle-aholic, this is what Grady would be saying. Thursday was Grady's last night with a bottle before bed. Some of you other parents are gasping at this thought. Yes... Grady. Still. Has. A. Bottle. Had a bottle until Thursday that is. As I am writing this I am thinking I should have taken a picture of this momentous occasions. But I did not.
There always seemed to be a reason why we postponed ending Grady's relationship with the bottle. I was going back to work, Grady wasn't sleeping well, we were going on vacation, Grady was sick, James was sick, etc. etc. But I think the biggest reason we delayed it was that we both love giving him his bedtime bottle. It seems to be the only snuggle time we get with our busy little boy. As we say goodbye to the bottle we are embracing our new routine which will hopefully lead to a good night's sleep for all of us. Have I not mentioned how little we are sleeping around our household?
Anyhow.... Starting Friday, instead of a bottle, Grady will be having a sippy cup with milk, brushing his teeth, (which we haven't been very good to up until now), and reading stories before catching some zzz's. Keep your fingers crossed that this doesn't change how well Grady goes to sleep at night and also that this helps him stay asleep!

Haircut Time!
Grady got his first real haircut today. Meaning one that wasn't from me.
He got to wear a magic cape....
Read some books with Mommy....
Sit in a car chair with a steering wheel...
He loved every second of it, right until the end when they took his magic cape off....
Can you tell?

Plumber
When Grady grows up, will he be a professional snow boarder?
Will he be a mechanic or race car driver?
Or a plumber?

Weekend
This weekend was very low key as we nursed our little man back to health. We made sure he drank lots of fluids and only made healthy food choices. We wouldn't let him eat popcorn twists while he had the flu. Not us.
Nor would we let him put the banana cookies Nana bought for us and the popcorn twists he wasn't eating on the floor.
And he definitely didn't eat them off the floor.

All in all it was a quiet weekend. Exactly what we needed after a hectic week in our little house of illness!

Little House of Illness
It started with the flu on Sunday, colds for Nana and I on Tuesday, and our week is ending with James having the flu. He just yelled down that his temperature is 101... is that bad he asks??? YES - You have a fever. Which means lots or rest and liquids are in order.
I am happy to report that Grady seems to perking after 1 day of throwing up and 4 of not eating or drinking much . Today we sent him to daycare and I thought about him today more than any other day. It is one thing to send him to daycare when he is perfectly healthy but it is a whole other playing field when he is sick. Who is going to make sure he gets enough fluids? Who is going to make sure his diaper gets changed so he doesn't get a diaper rash? And most importantly, who will give him the love and cuddles that everyone needs when they are sick? Nana did a very good job of taking good care of him for 2 days but today we decided it was time to get back into our normal routine. Grady had not been to daycare since last Wednesday - talk about spoiled!
When I picked him up, Grady was playing catch with another little boy and his provider. He looked to be having lots of fun. She said he drank milk and ate well at 2 out of 3 meals. And to top it off he slept for 2 hours! I personally think that was more because he was up from 130 to 330 am... but that is a different story!
All in all, this week it seems like just as one of us gets better the other takes a turn for the worst. I hope it isn't my turn next. Then who will take care of the men in my household???
Here's to hoping James is back up to par (or at least close) tomorrow!

Happy Thanksgiving!
Our Thanksgiving dinner didn't go quite as expected.... I'll keep it short and try to spare you the gory details. This is our little turkey having fun and playing.
The evening started with playing and lack of appetite for Grady and lots of turkey for the adults.

Grady's New Winter Gear!
When James was at work last week, me and my mom ventured over to Bo Bebe to buy some sippy cups and came home with this adorable snow suit.
Yesterday morning it snowed in Calgary so I went to put the jacket on and James informed me it was too girly for Grady. So..... we returned to the store and exchanged if for this more 'manly' version.
I still don't think that the blue one is 'girly' but he will most certainly look handsome in the new and improved (according to James) version!!!
